Its summer … warm sunshine (most of the time anyway), beach holidays, parties, barbeques and flower filled gardens bringing frivolity and colour to our lives.
At home, I’ve opened the windows and switched some of my beloved landscapes with a few stunning florals including one of Ian Hertslett’s large flower abstracts, this bright Lesley Charnock “Nasturtiums” and, a reminder of home, this wonderfully atmospheric Dante Ruben, “Flower Sellers”.
To “summer-fy” the kitchen I’ve embraced Pantone’s colour of the year and popped an arrangement of coral inspired, handwoven Swaziland-made baskets on the wall. I’m also using monochrome patterned and plain versions of these baskets to hold chips, rolls, fruit etc. on my outdoor BBQ table.
And finally, I’m keeping a sunshine smile on my face by sharing my bathroom shelf with a trio of these irresistible ceramic dancers – free-spirited goddesses!
